SSI Schäfer Has Changed Its Standard Frame Depth
SSI Schäfer changes standard frame depth from 1050 to 1100 mm
In Europe, pallet racking is subject to standards. Various EN standards set out the safety factors used in the design of pallet racking, but also specify the tolerances that must be applied for matters such as:
- Clear distance between pallets within a racking bay
- Clear distance from pallet to frame
- Clear distance from the top of the pallet to the underside of the beam above
- And many more prescribed dimensions
These standards also determine the depth of a frame when placing euro or block pallets that are 1200 mm deep.
Based on these standards, almost all manufacturers have used a frame depth of 1100 mm.
